Alia Elias, N.D., LAc.

Dr. Alia Elias is a board certified naturopathic physician (N.D.) and acupuncturist (LAc.).

She has an incredibly diverse background.  She received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine after 6 years of graduate study from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.  Her education included Reiki certification, massage work, coursework in Biotherapeutic Drainage, Gemmotherapy, and Oligoelements, as well as Classical Homeopathy.  Dr. Elias subsequently worked in many of Portland’s underserved community clinics utilizing Naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, and Chinese herbs.

Dr. Elias focuses on optimizing wellness and overcoming chronic illness.  She emphasizes preventative medicine and fosters empowerment for each individual.  Her interests include pediatric nutrition and wellness, adult nutrition, musculoskeletal injury and pain, women’s health, depression and anxiety, stress management, and chronic disease.

The word “doctor” is derived from the latin word “docere” meaning “to teach”.  Dr. Elias serves as teacher and support person in her patients’ quests for optimal health.  She is convicted that the therapeutic value of a concerted doctor-patient relationship is held as fundamental to the healing process. She further believes that disease is the result of imbalances of the physical, emotional, spiritual, and energetic levels.  By recognizing the causes of the imbalances that lie in one’s diet, lifestyle, and environment, it is possible to augment these factors to benefit one’s health and achieve equilibrium.  She wants to inspire you to embrace healthier lifestyle choices and offers tools to accomplish this.  She believes that the doctor serves as catalyst for change in one’s life and health and that it is ultimately the patient who accomplishes the healing.
